Stretch Dungeon game has been out for few days, have you played it? You may want to know how to play this game, what to do to improve your score, and what to do to avoid more of those traps and manipulate the dungeons. Now we will present you our set of Stretch Dungeon tips and tricks. Just read on if you want to survive the strange new worlds!

1. To Crack Or Not To Crack The Pots?

You can bump into the pots in the game in order to break them, and once you do, there’s a chance they will contain gems. But crashing into the pots represents a substantial gamble, as there may also be times they will come with spiked balls inside, and those spikes can end your run. Given that each pot can only hold one gem and no more than that, you would be better off avoiding them, especially if you’ve gone quite far in your current run; you wouldn’t want your run to be ended unceremoniously late into it just because you gambled on the chance to get one measly gem.

As a bonus tip, it may appear as if the green pots contain gems (since green means money and gems are currency, that sounds obvious), and the red pots contain spikes (with red being a color that often signifies danger). But Stretch Dungeon has veered away from the obvious, and there may be times when the green pots will come with spikes, while the red pots may come with gems instead. Truly, looks (and symbolism, in this case) can be deceiving.

2. Use Your Gems Only In Shortcuts

Gems are the game’s main currency, and you can use them to continue after your run has ended, or to unlock shortcuts. But before we dive deeper into this, we should let you know that the dungeons in this game are subdivided into multiple levels, and you can start your run from each of these levels/checkpoints. That’s where the shortcut comes in, as you will need to spend a premium amount of gems to unlock each of them. (Putting things in perspective, that’s 200 gems for the level 2 shortcut, for instance.) Keeping that premium pricing in mind, you should avoid using your gems to continue after your run has ended. Instead, spend gems on shortcuts, as that’s what could help you move forward faster in the game.

The only instance where we’d say it’s justified to spend gems on continues is the first time around, as it’s going to cost only 15 gems for that first continue. After that, subsequent continues cost progressively more, and aren’t quite worth it anymore.

3. Level 1 Trap – The Spike Sockets

Stretch Dungeon also tries to throw off players by including different types of traps depending on the level. It all starts out easy in the first level, as the spike socket is pretty much your average spike trap. You’ll know that there’s a spike socket ahead of you if you see a red socket. You can retract the spike into the socket if you stretch the dungeon, thereby allowing you to pass through safely. More often than not, you may need to do a stretch-and-jump motion, due to these sockets being bunched closely together in many cases.

4. Level 2 Trap – The Spike Balls / Springboards

On the second level, you will encounter spike balls, and the only time they move is when you stretch the dungeon. Stretching may make you launch yourself straight into the balls, ending your run and your game just like that. Be careful when dealing with these traps, and take extra care as well if you encounter springboards. These springboards may launch you upwards, and while that might sound like a launching pad to a long and exhilarating jump, it often means getting launched toward more spike traps.

5. Level 3 Trap – Even More Spikes

For the third level, you will encounter similar spike pillars to the ones in levels 1 and 2, but those spike pillars are covered in spike sockets in that level. The best way to keep yourself safe when those traps are nearby is to keep on stretching. Hit the green switch to push the pillar out of your way, but make sure that you hit the switch successfully, because if you don’t, it’s also curtains for you.

6. Manage Your Beard Properly

We did say earlier that your beard plays a key role in the game’s mechanics, and when we said that, we mean it could actually serve as part of the ways the game tries to trap you. Should your beard bump into an obstacle, it wouldn’t be as harmless as you think; in fact, it may often be counted as one of your hits, and it may end your run! The game did mention beard physics, and now that we brought it up again, we should warn you to be very careful, as your beard’s flopping may literally be the end of you and your run.
